I am ME and YOU are not...

Our deeply polarized season, and the consequential frenzied media coverage, at least, allows the "sides" to each keep drawing closer to a fundamental explasnation of why the "other" sees life as they "seemingly" do.  Glossing over all the familiar tropes, my sense is that any durable "core explanation" willl either come from AI enabled consciousness science, or the schism will stay forever a mystery.  My sense is that, to even the most casual observer, it is apparent that we don't so much divide as that we group according to our individual attachment to self i.e. "ego" On the spectrum we range from "me first" to "oneness".  Further it seems to be deep coded such that all cutural expressions  evidence this spectrum.  There is no good vs bad. Who knows! Does our species future favor policies that optimize individuals or ones that optimize the whole? We can agree that "the good of the many outway the good of the few", but maybe the good of the many is dependent on the good of the few and the exchange rate should be 14000 migrants for one Musk. Or, if we didn't have Jeff and Bill and George, doing there superior/hoarding bit, wel, there wouldn't be any migration.  When Deep Mind clearly explains the spectrum mechanics at the quantum level, we may still not choose integral, but... it will certainly make elections a helleva lot simpler!
