EVOLUTION REVOLUTION 2020.02 "WOKE"

Purported to track to a 1970's play, it seems clear that "woke" started as a black community call-out for "social justice".  Barry Beckham "I been sleeping all my life. And now that Mr. Garvey done woke me up, I'm gon' stay woke."  It went cyber mainstream in 2014+ and was co-opted by just about everyone shortly thereafter.  It is a good example of how evolution works, in this case as applied to the journey of a popular meme.  Graphing the "woke" frequency usage in the Chicago Projects from 2015 to 2020 would, no doubt, show a severe decline from very common to near zero.  Graphing "woke" usage in suburban California would show exactly the opposite. The pattern is similar to blues, rap, and many other clarion memes.

Of course, along with this migration the definition also changed.  My sense is that "woke" used to mean, "don't let the establishment screw you over", and it now means, "a consciousness that understands the prevailing cultural dynamic and is cool with it".

Some would say that it's much harder for the praxis energy  naturally arising in the "left populism swarm" to gain traction when the fucking elites keep stealing their "rally flags", but I guess there is something to say for our social engineers having held off the revolution for as long as they have.

Again, and as always, thanks to DJT, Mitch, Bill, Linsey and their "Stepford Wives Scumbag State" for pushing the Evolution Revolution way beyond "woke"....it's now, go for broke!
